Cherryculture Haul: NYX & Sinful Colors + NOTD

I got a really great package from CherryCulture yesterday!

I got some NYX round lip glosses. You know how they use to smell like lemon air freshener? Now they smell like SHERBERT ICE CREAM!!!! (not too strongly though) And they fixed the stopper so it doesn't come out.

All these colors are so gorgeous!

I got some more Sinful Colors nail polish. I am becoming obsessed with these. I am a little sad because on the CherryCulture website it said Hypnotizing Trend was called Katrina, and I wanted it because thats my name. The number on the sticker & CC is the same so I'm pretty sure its not a mistake which the actual color.

I couldn't wait to try out this color.

& here I put on a few of the NYX hearts

Nail's Of The Day: China Glaze Flying Dragon

I really thought this color was going to be amazing because in the bottle its a gorgeous purple with blue & fucshia glitter, but when I put it on I was not impressed. The glitter isn't really glitter in the sense that it doesn't reflect light or change color at all. Its just flat and you can't really see it unless you are upclose. Also without a top coat its not shiny at all. I think with some other sparkly color layered over it it could be great, but I think with a brand like China Glaze you shouldn't have to resort to that.

In this photo you can see the glitter but its not this impressive in person.

Nail polish haul & Nail Of The Day

My newest addiction right now is nail polish. I don't know how long its going to last so I'm trying not to go crazy and buy 38267922 bottles that I will probably go months without using. I don't want to be one of those people who has 200+ colors (says the girl with over 100 eye shadows). Today I got 3 colors and 3 of those super thin brush polishes that you use for artsy designs.

I also got a new top coat a few days ago. My old Sally Hansen one was getting a little thick and I think it was giving me bubbles (those annoying bumps that ruin your mani's). So I did some research and the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat had a good rep. This is $8 at Sally's. I wish I'd gotten the Sally membership cause then it would have been only $5. Oh well, next time.

Review: Rimmel Stay Matte + SkinPure Complex Foundation

Quality: 2 out of 5
Packaging: 5 out of 5
Price: $7.99
Size: 1 oz
Where To Buy: any drugstore
Would I Buy Again: No, I took it back.

Shine control formula for 12 hours matte coverage. With Skin Pure Complex for a visibly purified complexion and gentle botanical extracts to help soothe sensitive skin. Oil-free. Non-comedogenic. Non-acnegenic. Fragrance free. Paraben free.

I so wanted to like this foundation but there were several things that didn't workout.

First the lightest shade 100 Ivory was way to dark for my skin. In Revlon's ColorStay foundation I'm their lightest shade (also called Ivory) but this foundation would match their Buff or Sand Beige shade. This might work for me in the summer if I tanned a bit.

Second this did nothing to keep my skin matte. My face got oily quickly (like in 2-3 hours) and later in the day I noticed I had lines of foundation on the sides of my mouth where your cheeks crease as you smile.

Coverage was light-medium, which doesn't work for someone like me who has a lot of redness from breakouts. My pores also seems to stand out a bit more.

All in all it really didn't work for me so I returned it. However this did work well for Tanya from The Pink Train Case so I'm sure it would work for others.

PROS:
-the packaging is really nice, I like the slim tube better then the square or round jars other foundations come in and the opening points down so you can get all of it out
-no smell
-cheap price

CONS:
-bad color selection
-didn't control oil for me at all
-foundation creased/moved

MAC FF Haul

I got my FF haul from MAC a few days ago. I got the lipsticks Chatterbox, Lovelorn, and Angel. Those are my first MAC lipsticks. I also ordered Prep + Prime SPF 50 but they sent me a fluidline instead. I emailed them about the problem and they emailed me back in 15 hours and said they would send me the P&P free of charge and I could keep the fluidline, which is awesome. I'm glad that MAC has such good customer service.

Review: Jane Aqua Ceuticals Sheer Tinited Moisturizer SPF 30

Quality: 5 out of 5
Performance: 5 out of 5
Packaging: 5 out of 5
Size: 1.5 oz
Price: $6.99
Where To Buy: Walgreens, Rite Aid
Will I Buy Again: Yes!

I saw it at Walgreens and just had to try it. I don't usually do inpulse buys but I figured since I've never use a TM before I could try this out and wear it to the gym at the very least.

This is the first tinted moisturizer I've ever tried, so perhaps I don't know what I'm missing but I love this product! I know I'm going to use it tons in the summer when my family has swim/birthday partys (which is very often May-August).

This product comes in 4 shades: Fair (very fair, pink or porcelain undertones), Light Warm Tones (beige or yellow undertones), Medium Warm Tones (mediterranean, tanned complexion) and Dark Tones (deep, warm complexion). I use the lightest which is suppose to be for fair/pink toned skin but its great on my light neutral/warm skin.

PROS:
-SPF 30, protects your skin
-paraben free
-has green tea and white tea extracts
-gives good light to almost medium coverage, I have huge pores, uneven skin, and breakouts but I feel ok going out in just this (i.e the gym, quick errands, or beach/pool)
-makes my skin a little glowy
-gives light oil control, not as much as my normal foundation but I can just rinse my face mid-day and re apply which is good because you need to touch up sunscreen anyways
-makes a nice base for regular foundation, my foundation goes on really nice over it
-you get a very good quantity for the prize, 1.5 oz for $7

CONS:
-strong sunscreen smell when you put it on and take it off, but I kind of like the smell of sunscreen

INGREDIENTS: Active Ingredients: Ethylhexl Methoxycinnamate, 7.5% Benzophenone-3, 6.0% Ethylhexl Salicylate, 5.0%. Coastal Scents Haul; glitter and gel liners

I felt like getting some fun glitter in Christmas colors to use during the next 2 months, and it took me a while to realize that Coastal Scents has 1 teaspoon samples for under $1.50. So, I got red, green, & gold plus a red and gold eye shadow. The Crystal Teal was a free sample.

I also had to try their gel liners. They are half the price of MAC and HIP (just $7!) and they have more then the basic black/brown/navy/purple colors. I got Sky Line and Turquoise and I love them! They dry fast, a little bit goes a long way, and they are really bright. To apply them I got the black handled taklon liner brush, which is very thin and applies liner really well.

NYX Round Lipstick Swatches

I finally did the swatches of NYX lipsticks I got. I didn't do the round lip glosses yet, but those will come soon.

Notes: Paris looks like a darkish pink but goes on much lighter, Narcissus is seriously brighter then bubble gum pink, I tried to edit the color in photoshop but they didn't even have it. Everything else is pretty much spot on except Margerita is a little bit lighter.

CherryCulture NYX Lip Haul!

I got my CherryCulture haul yesterday, I am in love with all the colors. Best $12 I ever spent!

7 NYX round lipsticks, 2 round lip glosses.
Tomorrow if I am feeling energized I will do swatches and on-lip pics.

Wild Orchid and Doll Pink
they do smell like lemon air freshner, but I don't mind it and the texture is lovely. I will definitely get more colors.
