NOTD & some important food for thought.

First a little information I've recently learned about the environment.

I recently had to do a presentation on the effects of pollution on wildlife and learned that there is a floating trash heap in the pacific ocean 2x bigger than Texas (the other oceans have this too). Its killing marine animals, giving whales breast cancer, and poisoning our planet. Most of that trash is plastic from water bottles and trash bags and will take 1000+ years to degrade.

I know a lot of us will go to the drug store for just a few bottles of np, and I'd like to challenge everyone to not accept plastic bags when just getting a few small items. Just say "I don't need a bag" and put it in your purse (after you've payed for it =P ). Even if you don't live anywhere near a coast, that bag could end up in a stream that goes to a river that empties into an ocean 500 miles away, or it could end up in a local pond/lake/whatever.

Now on to my NOTD: I am wearing 3 coats Sinful Colors I Love You and 2 coats LA Splash's Sparkling Lavendar. The sunlight photos are not color accurate but show the sparkle. I Love You is similar to Daddy's Girl, but the base is lighter and it has a lot more gold and purple flecks (like tiny tiny flakies). Daddy's Girl just has gold flecks that are a little bit bigger.

Green Sinful Color swatches & a flakie comparison.

So many people are wearing green this month (for St Patricks day) and I don't have a lot of greens so I had to go get some so I could fit it. I got these 4 colors from Walgreens. Irish Green and Green Ocean are limited edition colors that Walgreens brings out each March for St Patties, so get them while you can. You can also get Sinful Colors nail polish at Cherryculture.com.

Mint Apple, 3 coats. Dustly pale grey-green with gold shimmer.

Rise and Shine, 2-3 coats. Kelly green with subtle blue shimmer.

Irish Green, 5 coats. Neon burnyoureyes kelly-lime green. You can layer it over white to make it fully opaque.

These are the flakies I have. Here you can see that the NYX flakes are huge and there aren't enough of them so it looks awful. The Nfu Oh's are perfect of course. The Sinful Colors is somewhere in between with nice sized flakes but there isn't any shimmer to fill the in spaces like the Nfu Oh's, and most are a little too square.

NOTD: Purple Fire

I'm not a big purple lover. I like looking at the color well enough, but I'm rarely inspired to wear it, and for one reason or another it usually lets me down. I saw this Sinful Colors Lets Talk and loved it in the bottle but wasn't sure about it because it looked like a frost and I thought from looking at the bottle it was too good to be true. Well I was so wrong, this color is 100x more amazing on then in the bottle and the frost is more reflective then metallic and just perfect. I LOVE IT!!!

The color is very opaque, this is just 2 coats. It is a little thick but a few drops of Sally's Beauty Secrets Thinner should make it easier next time. This can be found in the regular display at Walgreens for just $2.00.

NOTD: Teal Treasure

This mani was amazing. I use Sinful Colors Whats That and Nail Junkie (this one is at Walgreens), two coats of each. Whats That is harder to find but you could use China Glaze's Sexy In The City, Sally Hansen's Fairy Teal, or any other shimmery teal with Nail Junkie.

Nail Polish Haul: Jordana & Sinful Colors

I found a place down the street that has a bunch of Sinful Color polish and grabbed these 3.






Annnnnnnnd I found these Jordana polishes in a dollar store.

Nail's Of The Day: Sinful Colors - Daddy's Girl (purple w/ gold flecks)

I loooove this color. Its a dark vibrant purple with gold/fucshia glitter flecks and a nice glassy finish. You can get this at Walgreens or Cherryculture.com for just $2.

Cherryculture Haul: NYX & Sinful Colors + NOTD

I got a really great package from CherryCulture yesterday!

I got some NYX round lip glosses. You know how they use to smell like lemon air freshener? Now they smell like SHERBERT ICE CREAM!!!! (not too strongly though) And they fixed the stopper so it doesn't come out.

All these colors are so gorgeous!


I got some more Sinful Colors nail polish. I am becoming obsessed with these. I am a little sad because on the CherryCulture website it said Hypnotizing Trend was called Katrina, and I wanted it because thats my name. The number on the sticker & CC is the same so I'm pretty sure its not a mistake which the actual color.


I couldn't wait to try out this color.
