Franken: Scuba Diver

I'm on a roll with the frankening lately. This one did not turn out as holographic as I wanted, but I have 1 oz of loose holographic glitter on its way to me so I am going to add that and see if I can get it to be how I want it.

I used:

equal parts Color Club 220 Volts & Bizerk Turq for about 1/4 of the bottle
1/4 NYX Titanic
1/2 CC Worth The Risque

Franken: Peacock! At The Disco

Another franken, and this one is even better than the last. I started out wanting a navy blue holo (I admit I got the idea from someone else) but when I swatched this I had to keep it this way. I will still do the navy holo very soon, along with a lot of other ones. This color is a dark smoky blue with some teal, the holo glitter really stands out in sunlight and artificial lighting.

NOTD: Milani Cyberspace

Another great Milani holo. Cyberspace is a bit more sheer than the other colors I have, this was 4 coats and it could have used another. The first photo is with the flash. The 2nd photo is in indoor light and its actually a brighter blue, not so pale silvery. In the sunlight it gets even brighter with a rainbow of holographic fine glitter.

NOTD: China Glaze 2NITE

First off I would like to thank everyone for all the support so many of you have given me after the death of my dog. I miss her all the time, I can't believe she's gone. I guess life has to go on though. I have a lot of things coming up soon, assuming that I'm not swamped by work tomorrow. I have some pale lavender comparisons, Nfu Oh swatches, Jordana swatches, Misa swatches, and more.

On to 2NITE. This is such a lovely color. In natural lighting its a pale smoky blue which is still gorgeous even without the holo effect. In any type of artificial light it really pops like in the flash photo. In the sunlight the different colors are more pronounced than the last two photos show, its a lot more holo. There is also more green and yellow then the photos show.

My only complaint is that application was a bit pain over my base coat which was Orly's Nail Armor. I had major cuticle drag (when you get a bare spot above the cuticle) on the first 2 coats (the 3rd coat came out fine though). On my bare nail though I didn't have the problem with cuticle drag. I actually put this on Saturday, its now Wednseday and there is almost zero tipwear and no chipping.

NOTD: Milani Hi-Res (its a holo!!!)

This is a color you have to get if you love holos. Milani Hi-Res is a light purple with holographic glitter. In some lights the glitter just looks grey, and kind of looks a bit like cement to me. When you put it in sunlight or under a light the holo comes out and blows you away.

This is 3 coats of Hi-Res and one coat thin of Seche Vite quick dry. This polish is very smooth, with the top coat it feels and looks like glass. It also wears well, usually after 24 hours I've got shrinkage and some minor chipping but these photos were taken two days after I put it on. This first photo is taken in natural lighting, the others were taken in my bathroom, which apparently is a magical place for holos. *shrug* The sun was hiding and it was too cold to take photos outside.

My favorite Holos and Glitters

These are, in my opinion, some of the best and most unique holos and glitters around.

China Glaze DV8. Looking at DV8 outside or in the sunlight is like an instant pick me up, its just so cheerful and happy. Never been high but if you looked at this long enough...

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle. 10000000x more amazing in person. I don't love most green nail polishes but this blew my mind.

China Glaze QT, looks like DV8 when outsite. Pink-red holo, flares up like DV8 does in the sun.

Color Club Worth The Risque. Silver holo. Lovely and smooth. I'm not big on silver nail polish but this is fun to wear.

Finger Paints LE Decked With Dazzle. Multi-colored foil like glass fleck glitter things. Idk what this stuff is called but its amazing and I'm sad it was a LE christmas color at Sally's.

Milani Hi-Tech. Grass green holo, great great color. This is from the new 3D collection that has just come out, my CVS only got it this week. There are six other colors (I got the purple too).  If you want to see swatches of all of them check out Scrangie's blog, there is a link in my blog roll.

Wet N Wild Night Prowl. Black with fucshia glitter. This is a new color so it may not show up for a while, my Walgreens just got it.

Valentine's Day Mani: Ain't No Holo Back Girl

I'm in a nail polish rut and just am not happy with anything I put on. It took me hours to come up with this yesterday and it sort of worked as a V-day mani. 3 coats Color Club Worth The Risque, 2 coats China Glaze QT, and Art Deco's Silver Glitter for the middle.

NOTD: Easter Bunny On Crack / Color Club Fashion Addict

This is my first time wearing a holo and I am just like SWEET BABY MONKEYS!!! This color is so cool, I love how its blingy without being super bright. All these photos were taken in crappy lighting, I will probably take more in the morning.

When I was a kid my dad would tell me that the Easter Bunny had eyes that swirled around with multiple colors (& they would hypnotize you but my dad had special sunglasses), this is how I always pictured those eyes.

The first photo is with flash, the select is with no light directly on it, and the last two are under my lamp light. Fashion Addict was very easy to work with and only took 2 coats. Also its a little bit lighter then the photos show, its a pale lavender with silver and pink tones with multi colored glitter
